Friday morning we were still exhausted and slept in and had a lazy morning lounging in our room watching TV. We didn't have many English-speaking channels along our Stray Bus trip, and we were happy to soak in some of the news we had been missing.
We decided to head down to the pool at some point, and wouldn't you know that after being nice and sunny all morning, it would start to rain just as we got to the pool. Oh, how unpredictable the Bangkok weather. I guess it is rainy season, though, and probably to be expected.
Stephen decided to go for a swim anyway, even though it soon began to pore down. I found a nice, safely dry location under the building overhang and decided to catch up on my blogging a bit. The sounds from nearby construction on the highrise next door echoed off our building into the small courtyard where the pool was.
After a bit we decided to go back up to the room and change before heading out to grab dinner. We couldn't decide what we wanted. We were almost too tired to make a decision. In the end, it was decided we would head over to the Arab soi (Sukhumvit Soi 3/1) to look for some good Kebabs. We found a lovely hole-in-the-wall place with the sign hand-written and just a few stools and tables outside. It was at the corner of an alley-way of shops between Soi 3/1 and Soi 3. Definitely one of the best Kebabs I have ever eaten!
